We bring a full lighting kit and a portable backdrop, set up in a meeting room or a quiet corner of the floor, and photograph everyone on a rolling schedule so nobody loses more than fifteen minutes. About 15 to 20 minutes from our Petersham studio off-peak along Barangaroo Rd and the Western Distributor, and up to 30 in the worst of the afternoon. It is one of the shortest runs we do, which makes short-notice bookings here easier than most.

There is effectively no street parking, so we do not plan around it. The Barangaroo car park off Hickson Rd covers a half-day. If we are shooting on your floor, a loading dock booking and twenty minutes is enough to get the kit upstairs, and the towers handle that routinely.

Yes, and it is worth the ten minutes. Wulugul Walk and Watermans Cove give you water, timber and the towers behind you, and Barangaroo Reserve puts sandstone and the Harbour Bridge in frame. We usually do the corporate images near your building first, then walk out for the two or three that end up on a bio or a conference program.

They’re cheap and fast, and for a low-stakes avatar they can be enough. But an AI generator produces a face that isn’t exactly yours, can’t photograph your real office, team or product, and still struggles with hands, glasses, jewellery and fine fabric detail. Not at all. We control every detail and coach you through the whole session. Most clients arrive nervous and leave surprised at how relaxed and confident it felt. Being “photogenic” is our job, not yours.

Choose 2–3 outfits in solid, complementary colours that fit well. Avoid busy patterns and loud logos. After booking you’ll receive an outfit checklist tailored to your industry, plus guidance on layering, footwear and accessories.

Most professionals refresh every 18–24 months, or sooner after a significant change in role, appearance or brand direction. If your photo no longer matches the person who walks into the room, it’s time.

Our Sydney photo studio is on Parramatta Rd in Petersham, about 10 minutes from the CBD, with free on-site parking, plus a second studio in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. We also shoot on location across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, including North Sydney, Barangaroo and Barangaroo.

Yes. We regularly run team and leadership sessions in our studio or on-site at your office, keeping everyone distinct yet visually consistent across your website and LinkedIn. Team pricing is quoted on headcount and usage.

It is if your face is part of how people decide to work with you. A branding library is used every working day for 18–24 months: on your website, LinkedIn, proposals, decks, event programmes and press. Spread across that, the cost per impression is a fraction of a cent. If nobody ever sees your photo, it isn’t worth it, and we’ll tell you that on the call.

Most professionals need five to eight core images: a clean headshot, a relaxed alternative, a working shot, a wide environmental frame, a vertical for social, a horizontal for a website hero, and one or two detail or product frames. Our Mini session delivers 6, the Branding Pack 15, and a half or full day builds a content library you can post from for months.

You get a prep and strategy call, a mood board and a wardrobe consultation before the day. Bring more outfits than you think you need, get a decent night’s sleep, and arrive 10 minutes early so we can talk before the camera comes out. Everything else (direction, posing, lighting) is our job.

Solid, mid-to-deep tones photograph best: navy, charcoal, forest, burgundy, cream and denim. They hold shape, sit well against our backdrops and won’t date. Avoid tight stripes and small checks (they shimmer on camera), neon, heavy logos and anything that doesn’t fit properly. Bring a colour you actually feel good in. It shows.

Yes. Professional hair and makeup is an optional add-on from $275 on any Sydney session, and it’s included in the Full-Day. It’s booked through us and happens at the studio before we shoot, so you’re camera-ready without organising anything yourself.

The Mini Branding session covers up to five looks in 1.5 hours; the Branding Pack is built around multiple looks in 2.5 hours; half and full days move through several outfits and settings. We’ll map the changes on your prep call so no shoot time is lost deciding on the day.

Please do. Products, tools of your trade, a laptop, a book you’ve written, your camera, your coffee. Anything that tells the viewer what you actually do makes for stronger brand images than an empty studio. Bring them and we’ll build frames around them.

For most Australian business owners, sole traders and companies, professional photography used to promote the business is treated as a deductible business expense, and the GST is usually claimable if you’re registered. We issue a tax invoice for every session. We’re photographers, not accountants, so confirm your own situation with yours.

Yes. Half-day and full-day bookings can be split across instalments, and larger team projects can be invoiced in stages. Ask when you enquire and we’ll set it up. There’s no deposit required simply to enquire or to get a quote.

Enough to remove distractions, never enough to change your face. We keep natural skin texture, soften temporary blemishes, tidy stray hair and creases, and grade colour so the set matches. Extra retouching (a heavier clean-up, a background swap, a group composite) is available from $65 per image.

We deliver finished, retouched images rather than raw files. The editing and colour grade are a large part of what makes the images look like Hero Shot work, and an unedited RAW isn’t something you’d want published. If you need a specific extra frame from the session, you can order it from your gallery.

Yes. Your private gallery stays available and any additional images can be ordered and retouched afterwards, at the same standard as your originals. Plenty of clients come back for one more frame when a speaking gig or a press feature comes up.

Every session is delivered in high resolution for print, plus web-optimised versions: a square crop for a LinkedIn profile photo, 4:5 vertical for social feeds, wide horizontal frames for website heroes and email signatures, and guidance on which image to use where. A LinkedIn banner crop can be included on request.

Our studio is in Petersham, roughly 10 minutes from the CBD, and we shoot on location across the city: the CBD, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Surry Hills, Pyrmont, Alexandria, Barangaroo, Chatswood, Macquarie Park, Bondi Junction, Norwest and the wider Inner West, North Shore, Eastern Suburbs and Western Sydney.

Yes. On-location sessions run right across Greater Sydney, and travel within the metropolitan area is included in half-day and full-day bookings. For locations well outside Sydney we’ll quote travel transparently upfront, with no surprises on the invoice.
