People decide in seconds. Make it the right decision.
Your reputation is built over years, but online, people judge your credibility in a glance. A dated profile photo or inconsistent visuals quietly undermine your authority. When your organisation is judged on how it presents in public, blending in means being overlooked. Personal brand photography fixes the first impression before it costs you the second conversation.

Your photos, where people will actually see them
Most photographers show you a gallery. We show you the destination, because a LinkedIn profile photo isn’t the same crop as a website about-page hero, a PR and media headshot, or a 4:5 social frame. Every session is delivered cropped for each one.
06
Framing the Hero
A great portrait isn’t luck. Every frame in a Hero Shot brand photoshoot passes a four-point benchmark our founder Sam refined over a decade of Sydney portraits. Tap each point on the frame.

Lighting 01
It has to flatter and energise. Softbox key light, a clean rim light and a catchlight in the eye, all shaped to sculpt your features, in studio or in natural light on location.
Details 02
Every crease, collar and flyaway is accounted for on set, so retouching stays subtle and nothing pulls focus away from you.
Pose 03
We direct body language that communicates confidence: posture, hands, chin, weight, one coached adjustment at a time.
Connection 04
The viewer should feel trust. Shot at 85mm with a shallow depth of field, so the eyes carry the frame. As Sam says, smiles are earned, not requested.
07
AI headshot, single headshot, or a real branding session?
AI headshots versus a real photoshoot versus a single studio headshot: three very different answers to “I need a better photo.” Here’s exactly what each one gets you, and where each one stops.
Honest take: if you only ever need a 200px avatar and nothing else, an AI headshot generator or a phone selfie may be enough. The moment your face has to carry a pitch, a website or a press feature, the gap gets expensive, and stock photography or an office snapshot won’t close it either.
08
Real people, shown at their best
Recent headshot photographer Sydney Olympic Park work: brand photoshoots, LinkedIn photos and executive portraits, from studio sessions in Petersham to on-location shoots in the CBD, North Sydney and beyond. Filter by how you’d use the images, or see the wider headshot portfolio.
09
Retouched to look like you, on your best day
No plastic skin, no swapped faces. Frequency-separation retouching cleans up the distractions (a stray hair, a creased collar, a harsh shadow), then a consistent colour grade makes every image in your library match. Drag the handle to see the difference.
- Natural skin texture kept intact
- Consistent colour grade across the whole set
- High-resolution files plus web crops: square for LinkedIn, 4:5 vertical for social, wide for your website
- Extra retouching available from $65 per image

How much does personal branding photography in Sydney Olympic Park cost?
At Sydney Olympic Park and across the inner west, personal branding photography prices typically range from around $1,250 for a focused mini session to $7,000 for a full-day production with video and makeup. Brand photography costs more than a single headshot because you’re buying a library, not a frame. Where you land depends on four things:
Smart questions to ask any Sydney Olympic Park photographer: how many final images are included, whether retouching and a prep call are part of the price, and how the images are licensed for your use.
One more thing worth knowing: for most Australian business owners, sole traders and companies, professional photography used to promote the business is a deductible business expense, and payment plans are available on larger bookings. Confirm your own position with your accountant.
What does one good photo actually cost you?
A branding shoot isn’t a one-off purchase. It’s an asset you use every working day. Move the sliders to see the real number.
Across 12,480 views, your portrait costs less than a fifth of a cent each time someone forms an impression of you.

Personal branding photography at Sydney Olympic Park, the only precinct in Sydney built for crowds
Sydney Olympic Park is unlike anywhere else we work. It is a whole precinct rather than a suburb, designed to move tens of thousands of people through it, and on a quiet weekday it is close to empty. That is the opportunity. Wide boulevards, monumental architecture, the parklands and the wetlands all sit within a few hundred metres of the office floors on Australia Ave and Herb Elliott Ave. It also runs a second kind of work: conferences and events, where a headshot station in the foyer photographs a hundred and fifty delegates in a day. Both of those are on-site jobs. Nobody here is driving into the city for a portrait, and they do not need to.
Your own floor on Australia or Herb Elliott Avenue
Glass, open plan and long internal sightlines. We light a corner of your own office so the portraits carry your fit-out rather than a rented grey backdrop, and we work around the desks instead of clearing them.
A headshot station at your event
Set up in a foyer or a breakout room, we photograph six to eight delegates an hour with previews on screen as we shoot. It is the single most useful thing you can add to a conference programme and it runs itself once it is up.
Olympic Boulevard and Cathy Freeman Park
The boulevard, the pylons and the cauldron. Monumental scale, almost empty midweek, and instantly recognisable to anyone in the country without needing a caption.
Bicentennial Park and the Brickpit
Mangrove boardwalks, reed beds and the ring walk suspended over the old quarry. Two completely different natural sets within five minutes of the office floors.
Olympic Park Station and the plaza
Steel, glass and a soaring roof over an empty platform on a non-event day. It is one of the strongest architectural backgrounds anywhere in western Sydney.
The parklands and the river edge
Open grass, avenues and the riverside on the northern boundary. Room for full length frames, walking shots and team photographs too large for any room.
All of that sits within about ten minutes on foot of the office floors, which is why an on-site session here produces a wider library than a studio booking of the same length. Start with the 60-second planner.

Nearby suburbs we also cover: Rhodes, Parramatta, Macquarie Park.

Sydney Olympic Park personal branding FAQs
Yes, and it is one of the things we do most often here. We set up in a foyer or a breakout room, photograph six to eight delegates an hour with previews on screen, and hand back retouched files in five to seven days. It needs about three metres by four and a power point, and it runs continuously through the programme.
About 25 minutes from Petersham on the M4 and Homebush Bay Drive on a normal day. On a major event day it can be much longer, so we arrive early and load in before the crowds. There is no travel charge for the precinct.
Not on a normal weekday. There is more parking here than in almost any suburb we work in, and most of it is a short walk from the office floors. Event days are the exception and they change everything, so tell us if there is something on when you book.
Yes, and midweek the precinct is close to empty, which makes it far easier than it sounds. Olympic Boulevard, Cathy Freeman Park, the station roof, Bicentennial Park and the Brickpit are all within ten minutes on foot, so we can move through two or three of them in a single session.
It captures your unique story, expertise and personality in images aligned with your goals: a full, consistent visual library for websites, LinkedIn, social, speaking and press, not just a single headshot. You’ll also see it called personal brand photography, business branding photography or simply a professional branding photoshoot; in Sydney Olympic Park and across Sydney they all describe the same thing, and it’s what we do all day at Hero Shot Photography.
Our Sydney Olympic Park sessions range from $1,250 for a Mini Branding session to $7,000 for a Full-Day production with videographer and makeup artist. The most-booked option is the $2,200 Branding Pack. Use the instant estimator above for a realistic range based on your needs.
A headshot is one clean, chest-up portrait that answers “what do you look like?”. A personal branding session delivers 15+ varied images across multiple looks and settings, answering “why should I trust you?” across LinkedIn, your website, PR and social.
They’re cheap and fast, and for a low-stakes avatar they can be enough. But an AI generator produces a face that isn’t exactly yours, can’t photograph your real office, team or product, and still struggles with hands, glasses, jewellery and fine fabric detail. If your face is carrying a pitch, a website or a press feature, that gap becomes expensive. See the full comparison above.
Not at all. We control every detail and coach you through the whole session. Most clients arrive nervous and leave surprised at how relaxed and confident it felt. Being “photogenic” is our job, not yours.
Choose 2–3 outfits in solid, complementary colours that fit well. Avoid busy patterns and loud logos. After booking you’ll receive an outfit checklist tailored to your industry, plus guidance on layering, footwear and accessories.
From 1.5 hours for a Mini Branding shoot, 2.5 hours for the Branding Pack, up to a full day for a complete brand production. We’ll confirm exact timing on your prep call.
A private gallery of final retouched images arrives within 5–7 business days. Urgent deadlines can often be accommodated, just let us know when you enquire.
Yes. Every session includes a commercial usage licence covering your website, LinkedIn, social media, press and marketing materials, with no extra fees to actually use your photos.
Most professionals refresh every 18–24 months, or sooner after a significant change in role, appearance or brand direction. If your photo no longer matches the person who walks into the room, it’s time.
Our Sydney photo studio is on Parramatta Rd in Petersham, about 10 minutes from the CBD, with free on-site parking, plus a second studio in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. We also shoot on location across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, including North Sydney, Barangaroo and Sydney Olympic Park.
Yes. We regularly run team and leadership sessions in our studio or on-site at your office, keeping everyone distinct yet visually consistent across your website and LinkedIn. Team pricing is quoted on headcount and usage.
It is if your face is part of how people decide to work with you. A branding library is used every working day for 18–24 months: on your website, LinkedIn, proposals, decks, event programmes and press. Spread across that, the cost per impression is a fraction of a cent. If nobody ever sees your photo, it isn’t worth it, and we’ll tell you that on the call.
Most professionals need five to eight core images: a clean headshot, a relaxed alternative, a working shot, a wide environmental frame, a vertical for social, a horizontal for a website hero, and one or two detail or product frames. Our Mini session delivers 6, the Branding Pack 15, and a half or full day builds a content library you can post from for months.
You get a prep and strategy call, a mood board and a wardrobe consultation before the day. Bring more outfits than you think you need, get a decent night’s sleep, and arrive 10 minutes early so we can talk before the camera comes out. Everything else (direction, posing, lighting) is our job.
Solid, mid-to-deep tones photograph best: navy, charcoal, forest, burgundy, cream and denim. They hold shape, sit well against our backdrops and won’t date. Avoid tight stripes and small checks (they shimmer on camera), neon, heavy logos and anything that doesn’t fit properly. Bring a colour you actually feel good in. It shows.
Yes. Professional hair and makeup is an optional add-on from $275 on any Sydney session, and it’s included in the Full-Day. It’s booked through us and happens at the studio before we shoot, so you’re camera-ready without organising anything yourself.
The Mini Branding session covers up to five looks in 1.5 hours; the Branding Pack is built around multiple looks in 2.5 hours; half and full days move through several outfits and settings. We’ll map the changes on your prep call so no shoot time is lost deciding on the day.
Please do. Products, tools of your trade, a laptop, a book you’ve written, your camera, your coffee. Anything that tells the viewer what you actually do makes for stronger brand images than an empty studio. Bring them and we’ll build frames around them.
For most Australian business owners, sole traders and companies, professional photography used to promote the business is treated as a deductible business expense, and the GST is usually claimable if you’re registered. We issue a tax invoice for every session. We’re photographers, not accountants, so confirm your own situation with yours.
Yes. Half-day and full-day bookings can be split across instalments, and larger team projects can be invoiced in stages. Ask when you enquire and we’ll set it up. There’s no deposit required simply to enquire or to get a quote.
Enough to remove distractions, never enough to change your face. We keep natural skin texture, soften temporary blemishes, tidy stray hair and creases, and grade colour so the set matches. Extra retouching (a heavier clean-up, a background swap, a group composite) is available from $65 per image.
We deliver finished, retouched images rather than raw files. The editing and colour grade are a large part of what makes the images look like Hero Shot work, and an unedited RAW isn’t something you’d want published. If you need a specific extra frame from the session, you can order it from your gallery.
Yes. Your private gallery stays available and any additional images can be ordered and retouched afterwards, at the same standard as your originals. Plenty of clients come back for one more frame when a speaking gig or a press feature comes up.
Every session is delivered in high resolution for print, plus web-optimised versions: a square crop for a LinkedIn profile photo, 4:5 vertical for social feeds, wide horizontal frames for website heroes and email signatures, and guidance on which image to use where. A LinkedIn banner crop can be included on request.
If you’re anywhere around Sydney Olympic Park, almost certainly. Our studio is in Petersham, roughly 10 minutes from the CBD, and we shoot on location across the city: the CBD, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Surry Hills, Pyrmont, Alexandria, Sydney Olympic Park, Chatswood, Macquarie Park, Bondi Junction, Norwest and the wider Inner West, North Shore, Eastern Suburbs and Western Sydney.
Yes. On-location sessions run right across Greater Sydney, and travel within the metropolitan area is included in half-day and full-day bookings. For locations well outside Sydney we’ll quote travel transparently upfront, with no surprises on the invoice.
Yes, and for teams it’s usually the better option. We bring a full lighting kit and a portable backdrop, set up in a meeting room or an open corner, and photograph everyone in a rolling schedule so nobody loses half a day. Your real workspace also makes for far stronger brand images than a white wall.
Studio gives you controlled light, clean backdrops, fast outfit changes and the most reliable results, ideal for headshots and profile photos. On location puts your workspace, team, product or the city itself in frame, which is what makes a branding library feel like you. A half-day lets you do both, and most clients do.
Yes. We have a second studio in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, and we shoot on location in Melbourne and Brisbane regularly. Same process, same team standards, same 5–7 day delivery.
Photography is the whole point. Everything else is logistics
Lighting, direction, timing, retouching. A personal branding photographer earns their fee in the parts most people never notice, because those are the parts that make someone stop scrolling and trust you.
Your next profile photo shouldn’t look like your last one.
Let’s create personal branding photography in Sydney Olympic Park that feels like you, and works wherever your brand shows up, from LinkedIn to a press feature. Start with rough timing; everything else we’ll figure out together on a 15-minute call.
