Our Sydney Studio
Petersham, Inner West — ten minutes from the city
Our studio sits on Parramatta Road in Petersham, ten minutes west of the CBD. Two hundred square metres, four-metre ceilings, a long wall of west-facing windows. We built it around the work we do, not the other way round: headshots, branding, editorial, video, podcasts. Most of what Hero Shot shoots in Sydney happens here.
Portfolio Studio SessionsThe Light
The windows face west, so the room fills with afternoon light. Sheers soften it. Blackout blinds kill it completely when a setup needs control, which covers most corporate headshots. After that it’s whatever the shot calls for: flash or continuous, stands, soft boxes, scrims, all on hand.
The Room
The size opens things up. Shoot full-length, rig from above, pull the subject well off the background, and run a full crew without everyone tripping over each other. There are a few different sets in the one room, too: clean backdrops, a daylight lounge, a worn-in Chesterfield corner. A single session can cover a handful of looks without leaving the building.

Professional headshots for teams and professionals
- We black out the daylight and use our own lighting, so every frame matches
- Headshots that sit together across a whole team, on a website or in a foyer
- A private room with a change area and air con, so people relax and photograph better
- Set up to run a long line of staff through efficiently, without the quality slipping
Brand and personal branding photography
- Several sets in one room: a clean backdrop, a natural-light lounge, space for props
- A mix of formal and relaxed, a few different looks, a couple of wardrobe changes
- Room for a laptop, a second outfit, props, or whatever else the shoot calls for
- A full set of images from a single session, not spread across locations and days
Editorial and fashion photography studio
- A large daylight studio with the space to move and shoot full-length and wide
- Four-metre ceilings with the height for rigging, backdrops and tall lighting setups
- Big windows and full blackout, so we move from soft daylight to hard and directional
- Room to build a set from scratch and light it exactly the way the brief calls for
VIDEO AND PODCAST PRODUCTION
- Daylight in for a natural look, or blacked out to build the frame from scratch
- Room for crew, gear and full sets, with high ceilings for lighting and grip
- Video podcasts and interviews on the Chesterfield set, not the usual bare wall
- Furniture that moves for a one-on-one or a panel, plus PA, Wi-Fi and a change room
getting to us
The studio is at 428A Parramatta Road, Petersham, in Sydney’s Inner West, around ten minutes from the CBD and a short walk from Petersham Station, with Central about ten minutes away by train.
There’s free on-street parking outside. Coming in for a session is genuinely easy, whether you’re driving or on the train.
